The Fourth International Workshop on Operation and Management aimed at development of management knowledge and promotion of the scientific level of business processes in shopping centers, along with examination of the latest practices in the purchase and sale management industry, was held at the country's commercial centers and malls.

According to Iran Mall Exhibition Center, the Fourth International Workshop on Operation and Management of Shopping Centers was held with new approaches to the retail industry on June 20, 2019, at Iran Mall’s Permanent Center for the International Exhibition and Trade Events.

Shahrokh Keshavarz, representative of the Association of Middle Eastern and North African Shopping Centers in Iran, during the workshop days said that Iran Mall was a successful example of a healthy and professional retail business which was also in compliance with international standards.

Putting an emphasis on the need of the country for professional traders and the necessity of training professional workforce in this sector, the director of Iran Mall Exhibition Center stated, “Now the academic center of Iran Mall has undertaken this important task, having organized specialized courses for different departments thus far and managed to train lots of specialists”.

He laid stress on Iran Mall’s approach to cultural and educational affairs along with trade, adding that, “This shopping mall has paid special attention to cultural and sporting affairs, having dedicated parts of this large shopping center to Iranian art, history, tradition and handicrafts”.

Fritz Seher, a former CEO of Interspar Chain Stores and an international retail expert, also regarded the principled and systematic management as one of the most prominent factors for business center success, emphasizing that all business center affairs, from the selection of tenants to the management of business centers, all fell within the remit of the commercial complex manager. Thus, his managerial behavior can contribute to its recession or success.

Following the one-day workshop, three educational round-table meetings and workshops were held in the areas of brand authenticity, shopping center management and business center development, in which the owners of the domestic production brands shared their experiences in producing, buying and selling their products.

At the end of the one-day workshop, some 20 women entrepreneurs in the retail industry were also honored.
